Ultrasonic Retainer Cleaner, 45Khz Retainer Cleaner Machine with 4 Modes Digital Timer, 200ML Denture Cleaner with Mouth Guards, Braces, Toothbrush Heads, Jewelry (Black)

How it works

1. Bubbles form. Ultrasonic waves create millions of microscopic bubbles throughout the water.

2. Bubbles collapse. They implode against every surface of your appliance, thousands of times a second, including the grooves a bristle can't reach.

3. Buildup lifts away. Plaque, film and staining release and suspend in the water — which is exactly why it changes colour.

Five minutes vs. the old way

A toothbrush cleans what it can reach. A retainer is a cast of your teeth — its whole shape is grooves a bristle can't enter.

Why we built this

Most people clean a retainer by rinsing it and giving it a scrub. It comes out looking clean, so the assumption is that it is.

It isn't. A retainer is a cast of your teeth, which means its entire surface is grooves and undercuts shaped exactly like the gaps a bristle can't enter. Run one through five minutes of ultrasonic cleaning and the water tells you the truth.

We sell one thing and we're specific about what it does. It's a cleaner, not a steriliser. It works with plain water and better with a tablet — which we don't sell and don't mark up. And it costs $59 against the $99.99 the biggest name in aligners charges for theirs.

Everything you need to know

Does it sterilise my retainer?

No — and be sceptical of anything in this category claiming it does. It's a cleaner. It removes plaque, film, staining and debris from surfaces a brush can't reach. That's a different claim, and it's the one we can stand behind.

How do I know it's working?

The water. It goes cloudy after the first cycle, and that's the buildup lifting off your appliance. You'll see it on day one.

Can I use it with Invisalign aligners?

It cleans clear aligners, including Invisalign trays. To be straight with you: Align Technology doesn't officially endorse third-party ultrasonic cleaners, so we're not going to imply that they do.

Do I need cleaning tablets?

It works with plain water and works better with a tablet. We don't sell tablets and we don't mark them up — any pharmacy denture or retainer tablet does the job for around ten dollars a month's supply.

One tip from experience: if you're using a tablet, fill the tank slightly below the max line. Tablets fizz, and a full tank can bubble over.

What are the four modes?

Quick clean — 5 minutes of ultrasonic with UV, for daily maintenance.
Deep clean — 10 minutes of pulsed ultrasonic with UV, for stubborn buildup.
Ultrasonic only — 10 minutes, for delicate items.
UV only — 15 minutes, no vibration.

Switch between them with one touch. A digital countdown shows the time remaining.

What shouldn't go in it?

Emeralds, opals and pearls — ultrasonic cleaning can damage all three permanently, along with anything on worn or antique settings. Use room-temperature water only; heat combined with vibration is what warps thermoplastic trays.

Anything I should know before the first use?

Always close the lid before starting a cycle — the UV lamps switch off automatically when it's opened, and you shouldn't expose eyes or skin to UV light. Keep it out of reach of children, and don't run a cracked or broken appliance in it.

Fill to the line with room-temperature water, never hot.

How often should I use it?

Once a day. More isn't better — repeated ultrasonic cleaning over time can leave microscopic scratching that makes clear appliances look cloudy.

How long does delivery take?

Dispatched within 5 business days, and delivered in roughly 8 to 12 business days in total. Free shipping on every US order, shipped from within the United States.
