Frequently Asked Questions
What does it actually do?
It cleans. Ultrasonic waves at 45,000 Hz create microscopic bubbles in the water that form and collapse against every surface of whatever you put in — including the grooves and undercuts a toothbrush bristle physically can't enter. Five minutes, no scrubbing.
Does it sterilise my retainer?
No. It's a cleaner, not a steriliser, and we don't market it as one. It removes plaque, film, staining and debris. Be sceptical of anything in this category claiming otherwise.
How often should I use it?
Once a day is the routine. More isn't better — repeated ultrasonic cleaning over time can leave microscopic scratching that makes clear appliances look cloudy.
Can I use hot water?
No. Room temperature only. Heat combined with vibration is what warps thermoplastic trays, and a replacement retainer is expensive.
How long is a cycle?
Five minutes on the standard setting. There's also a ten-minute deep clean with pulsed ultrasonic, an ultrasonic-only mode for delicate items, and a UV-only mode.
